Avatar vs Fern Gully

I'm sure almost everyone's gone to see the most expensive movie ever made known as Avatar, which cost 500 millies to make. Apparently it only raked in 232 mill worldwide, which is pretty atrocious considering how much was pumped into making the damn movie.
I went to see it last week and it cost me 15 pounds, which is cool, provided it was an epic movie. The best would be to see it in 3D obviously. So I sat through the 2 hours and 50 minutes thinking it was the illest shit I've ever seen. HOWEVER, I thought the storyline and plot had a children's fairytale quality to it and it struck me: it's pretty much a shitload more expensive and stylized version of Fern Gully!
Think about it... though I haven't seen Fern Gully in yonks, I couldn't help but realize how similar the characters were.
So the protagonist is human and doesn't have a headstart in alien-human integration 101. Same is the case with the blond haired surfy dude in Fern Gully. The heroine is alien, obviously, because if it was the other way around, it wouldn't be as cute, right? And of course the villains are always human, because god placed our kind on this planet to properly fuck it up. So why not mess it up for a bunch of good natured tribal aliens by mowing down their spiritual tree (needless to say, JUST like in Fern Gully) right and taking all their vital resources.
I could go and on... but yeah, funny how something as lowkey and b-grade as Fern Gully (which was made 20 years ago) may have influenced Avatar.

Damn Ma: Lara Stone

So I have this fascination with supermodels and we're talking about the bombshells of IMG, Storm, etc. My current fave is a gap-toothed pouting stunnah with a blond bardot-esque mane by the name of Lara Stone. She's ridiculous!
Check my illustration of her...

RIP Brittany Murphy

CathLove in WAH Magazine!

So my WAH magazine interview finally went up this week, which I'm very excited about. So excited, in fact, that I screamed at an excruciating pitch and woke my Korean flatmate up. Yep, she wasn't amused, but can she blame me? She's forgiven me anyways, hee.
Thanks to Lily Mercer and Sharmadean of WAH for this!

The interview can be read by following the link below:
